Prior to participation in the ASEAN+3 Youth Festival 2008, youths from ASEAN member countries, Japan, China and Korea prepared project showcases which revolve around the forum theme Growing ASEAN : At What Expense? . These project showcases illustrate case studies within the countries that lead towards the achievement of sustainable development from the social, economic and environmental perspectives.

Growing ASEAN, At what expense? The colourful and vibrant ASEAN+3 Tree that ASEAN+3 youths created together during the AYF Youth Forum carry fruits (measures to create a sustainable earth in the areas of sustainable physical environment, economic equality, social justice etc.) that bear testament to their passion and commitment to create a viable future. The discussion workgroups' presentation slides elaborate on the measures and plans of action, and of course the fruit of their labour - The ASEAN+3 Tree.
